Revilla showed that he can still play ball even after two years of absence from the league by hitting shot after shot from the outside, most of them from picks. Likewise, Simon Atkins and Luigi dela Paz were also doing the same thing as Revilla did, keeping the Archers within a safe distance once the Eagles threaten to snatch the lead.
-The Blue Eagles were not able to properly defend against screen and rolls, as the Green Archers either had wide open shots from the outside or open men from the inside. It seems that the guys have to be quick to at least cover their men and prevent them from getting clean looks.
-Greg Slaughter could have been a bigger factor if only he was quicker. One good observation is that, Slaughter needs to practice on his quicker Gilas-style post moves and touch passes that could distract the paint defenders. This way, he can avoid foul trouble and Come UAAP season, we hope to see more of a dynamic tower of power for the Blue Eagles.
-Seems that Arnold Van Opstal does not live up to his expectations as the Slaughter-stopper, and nobody can't even stop Ravena from scoring even with three La Salle defenders on him during the final stretch. And Norbert Torres? He was diagnosed with a hyperextended elbow after Frank Golla's big box out.
-Early in the fourth quarter, we have seen an usual defensive first five that doesn't have any offensive weapon except for Justin Chua. The big question here is, why? It seems that Norman Black does his usual experimentation to prepare for the UAAP season.
-Both Ateneo and La Salle had free throw shooting problems for the rest of the game. Ateneo hit 14 of 19, but missed the ones that could have delivered them a win. DLSU, on the other hand, went to the line and made 10 out of 22 attempts. Had they shot better from the charity stripe, they could have garnered a larger lead.
