Update: Tim Cone Lands Consultancy Job for DLSU

It seems that the Green Archers are not yet done with their major revamping, showing that they are doing all that they can in order to put the Green Archers back into the radar.

Just days after acquiring prized high school standout Jeron Teng, the Green Archers hired Coach Tim Cone of the B-Meg Llamados to serve as the team's consultant for Season 75. The post has been held by Coach Jong Uichico, who left the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings and landed a position as one of the coaches of the next Smart Gilas Pilipinas team and a consultant for the Meralco Bolts.

Before handling the reins of the B-Meg Llamados, the former head coach of the Alaska Aces, which won 13 titles under his leadership, expressed his interest in becoming the Green Archers' head coach. But due to his commitments with B-Meg, the DLSU management gave the post to Gee Abanilla, following Coach Dindo Pumaren's departure.

Known as the master of the famous triangle offense, which became the key to NBA Coach Phil Jackson's success with the Chicago Bulls and the Los Angeles Lakers, Coach Tim Cone would contribute largely to attaining the goals set for the Green Archers come Season 75, which primarily include returning to the Final Four after a dismal Season 74 where they were booted out of the final four with a 5-9 record.

Update: Alaska Acquires Wakeforest Cager Williams

The last thing that was heard about the Alaska Aces run for a return in the Finals was that their first choice of an import, forward Eddie Basden, was not allowed by the PBA because he was a fourth of an inch taller than the prescribed height for imports.

And it's good, even better probably, that they have prepared for option number 2. The Aces have "unofficially" acquired L.D. Williams, former Wakeforest guard as their import for the next conference.

Williams was one of the best players of Wakeforest in its history, having won multiple ACC All-Defensive Team awards, which includes 2009 and 2010. He graduated from the school ranking fifth all-time, and was known to be a top defender and a reliable scorer as well.

With things put in pieces, perhaps the next best step for Coach Tim Cone is to train and orient him in the basic offensive and defensive plays of the Aces, most particularly the way he will maneuver himself around the triangle that Cone uses for decades already.

FEU gets away with an unstained record, while UP is still winless.

The stage is nearly set for the FIBA World Basketball Tournament in Turkey, and it is fitting for coach Mike Krzyzewski to start building the pieces for Team USA. Because there will be no one from the 2008 Redeem Team who will return, the candidates of "Team Reconstruction" played a game to help coach M to choose. Thus, they divided in two and called a Blue vs White battle. And in the end, it was the Kevin Durant-led White Team who totally dumped the Blue of Rudy Gay.

With various deadlocks and lead changes big and small, it was Alaska who was favored by the circumstances. Finding themselves behind during the final canto, their first and second stringers woke up and rallied past the Talk N Text Tropang Texters. The biggest moment of the game came when former Blue Eagle L.A. Tenorio hit the game-deciding trey more than two minutes in the ballgame as a response to Tropang Texter Jimmy Alapag. Together with the Beermen, the Aces break the tie, now leading 2-1 into the series.
